Popular Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has won the ongoing parliamentary primary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency. He won with 758 votes against Afua Adobea.
Mr. Dumelo says his main aim is to take the seat back from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) so he could be “part of the decision-making process”.
Afua Adoboe speaking in an interview on GhOne said that she feels proud for being the only woman to contest against Dumelo.
Two-time NDC parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat, Delali Kwasi Brempong failed to pick forms for the ongoing elections.
In a by-election held on December 2018, Mr. Dumelo had picked forms to contest for the seat after it became vacant following the death of NPP MP, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko but withdrew to make way for Mr. Brempong.
But Mr. Dumelo said in an Interview on GhOne that he’s hopeful to win the seat in the 2020 elections.
Congratulations to him.
