The highest government agency responsible for the control of food and drug administration in Nigeria, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, informed and warned that the agency is yet to approve any vaccines or receive any application from Covid Vaccine manufacturers. At the same time, the agency alerted the public of the circulation of fake vaccines in the country, warning against the use of any unapproved vaccines by the agency.
The Director-General of the Agency, Prof Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye in a virtual conference said: “Covid-19 vaccines are new, and the side effects or adverse events must be well monitored, therefore, if NAFDAC does not approve, the public should not use.”
