There are fresh allegations that the former presidential candidate of African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore is linked to terrorist groups in Nigeria.
Sowore was recently quizzed by officials of the Department of State Services over his alleged link to proscribed terrorist organizations like Boko Haram, IMN and IPOB
This is coming at a time when the activist is still in the custody of the service after his release had been approved by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
This is as officials of the DSS recently interrogated Sowore over his possible links with proscribed armed groups like Boko Haram, Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) and the Indigenous People Of Ibo (IPOB).
It was reported by a local newspaper that a source conversant with Sowore’s court case revealed that he subjected to 4-hour interrogation on Thursday by security personnel on the issue.
The source said: “Agents have been asking him to tell them about his relationship with Boko Haram, Islamic Movement of Nigeria and the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra.”
CRN reported that Sowore`s lawyer, Falana told journalists on Friday, December 6, that his legal team was already taking steps within the law to secure the release of Sowore, and Bakare again since the DSS was claiming that both men were arrested on fresh charges.
The human rights lawyer faulted the manner his clients were arrested, noting that the service detained his clients under the pretext of inviting the duo for questioning at their office.
